The Energy Coordination Unit of Central American Integration System (UCE-SGSICA), together with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (ONUDI) and the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC) with the support of Austrian Development Agency (ADA) has begun the monitoring and evaluation process of energy pacts.
In response to the UN’s call to increase ambition and accelerate actions aimed at achieving the goals of SDG-7. This mandate gave rise to the High- Level Dialogue on Energy, which in turn facilitated the creation of Energy Pacts.These represent a historic opportunity to carry out a transformative action in favor of the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda and supports the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.These agreements are coordinated by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social affairs which acts the Secretary of UN-Energy with technical support from Sustainable Energy for All (SEfor ALL).

The main advances of the SICA countries include the expansion of electricity coverage with the connection of new users, the promotion of renewable energies as solar and hydroelectric, and actions to reduce the use of firewood use and improve energy efficiency in several sectors, contributing to the achievement of the goals of sustainability and universal access to energy.
